lung cancer at 62 and my friend just passed from lung cancer, which
makes me even more nervous.
About two weeks ago I went to the doctor with some mucus in my lungs.
I didn't really have a cough, but everytime I would breathe in, my
breathes would be "interrupted" by clicking sounds of mucus and it
would make me cough. When I coughed, some phlegm would come up
(clear).
It hasn't gone away. Now, two weeks later, things are a bit worse. I'm:
* Coughing regularly (every few minutes). My throat is constantly dry
and when I deep breathe in I do feel mucus somewhere in the paths...
* My throat is constantly dry. I drank a scotch last night and a
coffee this morning and after both it made things worse.
* I went into a store yesterday coughing and the guy at the counter
said "smoker, eh?". I said no! Never smoked in my life! He said
"that's definitely a smokers cough, you're lying". Made me worried!
* My muscles ache... my neck muscles on the right hand side have hurt
me for a day or two now. Also, when I push on the area where people
would normally do CPR compressions (middle of chest, slightly down
towards the stomach in the little "notch") it hurts much more than it
would normally hurt... very sore. Also, my back muscles, when I
stretch my arms up, feel like I recently worked out (sore)... but I
haven't in a over a week.
I did have a fever about a week ago but it went away in a day.
Actually, other than the coughing, slight stuffy nose (I feel the
mucus more in my throat than in my nose but there's definitely some in
my nose), and muscle aches, I feel fine.
Any thoughts? Could this be something majorly serious?
